Well, the wait is over! I don’t have to hope or dream (or stress) anymore! So here’s the story…
So, last Thursday, I knew the call was coming… You know how some old people say they can feel its gonna rain “I can feel it in my bones” (read in a shaky old scruffy voice) well, I had that experience haha! I knew the call was going to come in the mail that day. So, I called into work and asked if I could work earlier so I could basically stalk the postman all afternoon… So I got off from work around 3 and just sat there waiting… finally at 4:30 after checking the mail a million times… IT WAS THERE!! Probably the craziest feeling ever holding that in my hands knowing that inside was a paper telling me where I would serve. It was probably on the same level of amazing-ness as getting a letter from Devon after 6 months of nothing! (dude, that’s pretty major right there!) Anyways, so I had to wait until all of my family was there… (basically the longest wait ever!) So at like 6:30 I FINALLY opened my call, yes I was emotional, yes I was freaking out and yes, I was totally shaking! Anyways… I am called to serve in the….

Crazy huh?!? I am sooooooo excited it is ridiculous! I will be speaking Portuguese, which is soooo sweet! My dad served in Brazil (portuguese is their national language) so he is super stoked, we now have a little “bond” haha. Anyways, the only completely retarded part about this whole mish deal is that I don’t report to the MTC until December 30th!!!! How lame! Hello, I’m pretty sure I put my availability date ASAP!! My ideal situation was me going into the MTC like around my birthday which is October 16th… But nooooo; I guess the Lord has other plans for me… danget. So, that changes things around jus a lil bit! haha. I now am doing another semester of school (shoot me) and I am also accepting weddings still for the next little bit! (WOO HOO!!! I’m way exicted for that!)
This cute little family would be the Barney family! Yes, that is right, Barney… like the great PBS show we all used to watch (and love) as little kids with the big purple dino.
Anyways, they are a super cute family and they were so much fun to shoot! Even though we had a few tempertantrums, it was still a blast!

Aren’t these two just so dang precious?!
Yeah, that’s right! I’m so pro that Disney asked me to do pictures for them of the little mermaid! haha, jus kidding! But seriously, she definately does look like the little mermaid (minus the fins and the purple shell bra) She has the big blue eyes, and long red hair to fit the part! This girl is so dang gorgeous it’s insane! (secretly I want to steal her hair! It’s naturally super thick and curly!!! I guess I can dream…)
Any who, this is Libby! We hit it off great! We both have similar (sarcastic) personalities so it was great! She is going off to school soon up to Reno! Good luck!

Alright, so I am offically DONE with Summer school!! I don’t think that I could be more happy! Don’t get me wrong, I love UNLV (it’s an awesome school!! WOOO!! Go Rebels!) I even like going to school to learn (big shocker right there I know) but, seriously, 2 years of beyond full time school (Fall, Spring, Summer… and taking at least 15 credits) it kinda wears on ya, and kicks your butt. That’s why I am so excited for my year and a half break I have coming up!!! I know, I know… you probably are like, uh, Chauntelle don’t drop out… But don’t worry! I’m not! I am going on a mission for my church!! (Yes, I am LDS) My papers are in the mail on their way to me right now!!! (AHHHHHHHH) So I should know where I am going and when I leave for the MTC (missionary training center) either Thursday or Friday! I am super excited, but that also means that this blog and my website will be down for a year and a half. But, for those of you that want your pictures done, I am still accepting shoots… just no weddings
Alright, onto the pictures… So, this gorgeous babe-a-licious (go with it okay haha) blonde is Tori… I’ve know Bird (yes, bird. Her nickname since she was a little baby) for a while now. She is one of my neighbors and my sisters friends. She pretty much has the best style EVER in the history of the world! So… here is lovely Tori…

Sorry! I am super behind in updating this lovely blog… I’ve been way busy (I know, I need a new excuse
Anyways, I am going to try and get caught up on here.
This GORGEOUS girl is Kristen… It was soooo much fun doing her pictures! She is sooooo photogenic it made me sick, and it was beyond hard to choose just a few to post of her, so enjoy! There are a million of them
The first two are her announcements that I designed…

This has to be my absolute most favorite picture from the whole day which really is saying something because we took a TON of amazing pictures… I love how it is so natural! Whenever I look at this picture I can’t help but smile thinking back to how much fun we had doing her pictures. I L O V E photography and I think that one of my favorite things about it is interacting with all the people! I love to get to know tons of people and capture their interactions and personalities. So fun

This is my second favorite from the shoot I think… it is a super hard decision though! But I really love everything about this picture! She is so dang beautiful! Thanks Kirsten for such a fun morning!
Sorry it has been so long since I posted last! I decided that I could do summer school this summer, since I was able to do it last summer… So I decided that I wanted to just get as much as possible done and out of the way… I signed up for 16 CREDITS, not at CSN, oh no, that would have been too easy… AT UNLV… talk about getting my trash kicked! Haha. So I have been busy with school and homework along with my job, photography and trying to get everything ready for girls camp (I am the assistant camp director in my ward, woo-hoo so excited!)
Anyways, enough about my and my stupidity… Last month I was able to do a bunch of prom pictures which turned out to be such a blast! Seeing all the girls in their gorgeous dresses all dolled up reminded me of high school and all the great times I had, so I decided to take a look at my old pictures… BAD IDEA! I have never been a huge fashion or style guru… and that definately shows in my prom pictures… example one…
Hello greasy bangs!!! What the heck was I thinking?! This was my first prom so we will just pawn the horrible hair off on that excuse… onto exhibit 2…

This is my senior prom… I think that Devon and I look dang good… other than what the heck am I wearing? Look at those sleeves… lets fly away there Big Bird!! haha See what I mean, my style is a little wack. And here is our group just because that was the best prom ever and I want to throw it in there… and I miss the ones that are on missions like crazy!! Tyler, Devon and Todd… They are doing great! And Jacob (the blonde on the end) is getting ready to leave on his mission soon. Good luck you will be awesome

So finally on to the prom pictures that I did. First we have Kristen and Cody. They are seriously one of the funniest couples ever!

Next up is Maddie and Brenden. They are such a cute couple and they both are flawless! They were so cute and such a blast to shoot
Here are just a few…

The last prom session I did was for a huge group and we took a ton of way fun pictures… but again, here are just a few…

This gorgeous girl was such a blast to photograph! I think that we hit it off from the start and our personalities were so similar it was great! We hadn’t met before the shoot, but we became instant friends! I love that about photography, you get to make friends 24/7, it’s fabulous
Anyways, Courtnie is graduating this year and heading off to college! Good luck!!
Just a few…

On a side note, just for Becky…
these pictures and also the pictures from the last post of my sister are all done with my recently purchased Canon 5 D Mark II… let me just tell you, I never thought that I could love a camera… uh, well folks it is possible I am totally, and completely in love with my camera!! The pictures are so crisp and they all seem so flawless on the camera, I swear if I didn’t love editing then with this camera I wouldn’t have to!

Alright, sorry to my two followers, and of course all of you secret blog stalkers (you know who you are… leave some comments on here instead of telling me to my face haha love you guys though) that it has been so long since I have updated my blog!! I have been super busy with work and of course finals and guess what?! I am officially done with CSN this week!!!! Adios, ciao, shalom, bis dann, GOODBYE!!! I am so excited to be moving up in the world to UNLV!! I feel like such a big girl now haha. I am totally excited for a bigger campus and hopefully more school spirit! I have a few weeks before I start summer school so I am going to try and get this blog caught up! So… moving on…
My little baby sister is all grown up and graduating!! (as you all have seen by her gorgeous pictures all over the place) We decided to do some way fun pictures for her announcements out at this awesome museum and found some props to use… although we had to be super sneaky haha it was such a blast doing pictures for her!

Of course she had to decide AFTER we did them that she wanted a different style for her announcements… haha So we took some more pictures in studio (thanks Candace for letting us use your studio) But I think that they definately turned out way cute and we both love them! Thanks sister for letting me take pictures of your gorgeous face!

Alright, so I was talking to one of my friends who is also a local photographer, and she was talking about how she has been doing these “portrait parties” where you set up one WHOLE day at one location for photography. You have a bunch of little mini sessions along with a basic package for a way good deal, and she said that it really has been a blast for her. So… I have decided that I want to try it!! Woo- hoo!!
Here is how it works…
You get:
- a 30 to 45 minute session
- all images from the shoot hosted on your own proof site
- 10 edited images
- all images on a medium resolution CD
It is only $40! You can book your session for engagements, family portraits, senior portaits, bridals, or if you just want to have some pictures done; anything your little heart desires
May 16th is the day that I have set aside ALL DAY for mini sessions. I location that I chose is called Calico Basin and it is gorgeous! Here is a few pictures that I have taken there…

So if you are interested call or email me and we can hurry and get you scheduled for your own mini session!
